DynCorp International (DI) was awarded an Air Force Contract Augmentation Program (AFCAP) IV task order for Mission Support Services (MSS) at Ali Al Salem Air Base (AASAB) in Kuwait.
Task order revenue is $9.3 million over a 31-month period from February 28, 2019 through September 27, 2021. The award was made by the Air Force Installation Contracting Center (AFICC).
The MSS task order calls for DI to execute a three-phase transition at AASAB from February to September 2019 and consolidate operations from two smaller base task orders while also assuming responsibility for work currently being performed by Air Force active duty service members.
At full operating capability (FOC) on September 17, 2019, DI’s responsibilities will include operations, maintenance and repair (OM&R) services for AASAB facilities and installed equipment, airfield lighting, roads and grounds; 24/7 power production; force protection support; and base engineering and construction management support. DI will also provide training to Air Force members in electrical power operations and maintenance.
“This is a great win for us,” said Randy Bockenstedt, president of DynLogistics. “It allows us to expand our service to the Air Force in Kuwait and provide facilities and equipment OM&R, power production, and training that are core competencies for us in other locations.”
In addition to the work at AASAB, the company will also provide services at Al Mubarak Air Base (AMAB), which is the military portion of Kuwait International Airport. “DI has operated in Kuwait continuously since 1991,” said Jim Morrison, capture manager. “Our presence in country and experience performing the services that comprise the MSS allows us mobilize efficiently in support of the Air Force mission.”
